Various bits & bobs are used for the wildchurch sound. Making a track is about 50% real world, 50% computer based. Here are a few of the 'nice to look at' items.
First some old Japanese twangers - about 50 bucks apiece from the junk sales. Now restored.

Elk EM4 tape echo
Korg Σ - strange preset synth with lots of performance controls
Casiotone 403 - great fun to play, with a 'silky feel'
Casio - "snake tattoo" just for the rhythm presets EQ'd and sent through the tape echo
